How Stupid!!!!

In this day and age of WIFI, why do I have to pay for something that should be free?  Here is what happened.  We checked into a hotel, we pay $75 to stay here.....NO FREE WIFI!!!!! I have to pay $15 for 24hrs of access!!! What for?  They have a computer in the lobby I could use for free and it runs off WIFI, so why can't I use it on my laptop in my room that I paid for.

This is the excuse I got from the lady at the front desk (who is very rude I must add) "We charge because people were using it"

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!

So I had to hook up my smartphone and use my data plan to connect to check my email and such.

WOW!!! Went 1025 miles today.  We did it in 15 hours and 45 minutes.  I think the last f4 were the hardest.  Well we will be on the road again at 6AM.  Not too much to repot, maybe something exciting will happen tomorrow

What did we do before????

We as citizens of this world of today who have seen the GIANT upswing in technology are in awe.  Everything from TV's to cell phones, and also toys.  I just thought I would compare common electronics we take for granted today with there early counterparts from 20 years ago.  So with out further delay here we go.

Cell Phones

2008 $100    image

Smart Phones

Laptop Apple

2008 $1800  image

I could keep going and going like the Energizer bunny, but you get the idea.  Now the reason for this post is once again, my wife.  Today I thought I would be a good husband and take her lunch at work today.  Well when I got there I realized that I left my phone at home.  AHHHHH!!! What was I going to do? Well I did what anyone else in my shoes would do, freak out.  So after doing that I started to think about what we did before cell phones.  And I calmed down and turned on Sirius Radio (another thing not really around in 1998) and relaxed till she came outside looking for me.

For those of you who don't know this is Satchel, or Mo as he is known to us.

Now I ask you, imagine him in knickers, a ruffled shirt and a big white wig.

Random Things

Today was a crazy day, my wife finally got me to start the floor.  We are ripping out our old carpet and putting in wood floors, laminate floors actually.  So we spent the day at Ikea(love that store) and The Home Depot buying flooring and all the stuff that goes with it.  During the course of our day my wife and I had some interesting conversations.

The most interesting was this, my wife has this idea that our dog, Satchel, has his own personality and ethnic accent.  Yes I know stupid.  But, she concluded that his ethnic accent was one of a person from the 15th century, you know the high minded Nobel people that sounded like they had a branch up there butt.

So welcome to my world, leave a comment on how to respond to this. I have yet to figure out what to say, and whenever I look at my dog now I can only imagine him in knickers and a big white wig.

Xbox & Wife......Good combination???

Today as I finished GTA IV, I relished in my glory of successfully completing the game.  Not only did I complete the games main story line, but I did it in under 30 hours of game play.  Which means, for those of you who have played it, I got the "New York Minute" achievement.  YAH.

Now, at this moment as I was celebrating my wife asked me "what is the point of achievements?"  To which I responded "They are badges to strive to, playing the games more, and digging deeper into the games,  etc.etc.etc.  Now having pounded my chest for correctly knowing and answer and proving that I am not a moron, my wife had a completely different response.

Her response "achievements remind me of kindergarten.  Like when ever you did good you got a gold star.  And at the end of the week the person with the most stars was awarded something special."  I responded with a typical guy response "HAHA you don't understand."

Now people may not care about video games, but I do.  And it has been my quest to get my wife to play them to.  She does play a few games like Rockband, Scene It, and a few others.  Now about a month ago I bought her a Pink Nintendo DS Lite,  she loves it,  or should I say, she loves one game Brain Age 2.  She even gets mad when she looks at her progress and it looks like a mountain range, Up Down Up Down Down Down Up Down.

Work, Family, and creating time

My job takes me away from my family alot. Sometimes for long periods of time. No matter how long or how short my time away it only helps to form a stronger bond between my wife and I. She is now pregnant, and it is getting harder and harder to be away. But, I love my job and she loves the money, is money what it is all about. I hope not!

This is my first attemt at a Blog. I am not sure what to Blog about yet. So any ideas would be great. My interests vary from day to day it seems, but I have a thing for technology and gadgets. It seems i have to have the newest and best of anything that requires a battery, as my wife can agree with. A list of my electronics is as follows.

1. Philips 42" LCD HDTV
2. Xbox 360
3. Zune 80gb
4. T-Mobile Dash (which I don't like much)
5. HP Pavillion dv6336r
6 Nintendo DS lite black

That is just a list of the things that I use on a regular basis. I am very much on the web whenever i can. My job does not allow that as much. I work for a mobile kitchen that supports firefighters at wildfires. So most of the time we are in remote areas of the country. Good thing for satillites as they make the internet available.

My intentions with this blog is to keep my family, friends, and anyone else who cares updated about my travels. As well as random things i find intresting. Keep coming back for updates. I will try to update daily.
