What happened to the cost of living?

I was watching Revenge of the Nerds IV the other day, yes I know, and gas was 89 cents!!! Now I understand why gas is so expensive it is all politics and the fact that we have sucked our planet almost completely dry of this natural resource. But here is my real question why are baby clothes so expensive. I went to the store and bought a pair of pants for $7, they were on sale, normally the pants I purchased are $22. They were Old Navy so no they are not Wal-Mart specials. Anyway I went to buy our milk face a pair of jeans and the cheapest I found are $20! Now why are baby jeans only $2 cheaper than adult jeans? They use about as much cloth as the seat of my pants or one pant leg from the knee down on my pants. Is it because of the little stitches or is it the little pockets? I just dont understand why clothes 1/8th the size of mine are so expensive. Does anyone have any ideas? It is crap like this that makes kids so expensive to raise. I worry because by the time she gets to be a teenager she will want to buy clothes that consist of just as much fabric as her baby jeans and for the same price. Oh... I have a headache now thinking of this and I have scared myself thinking of her as a teenager who wants, what my parents used to, call hot pants. LOL by the way here are pics of her being amazed by me at least now she thinks I am interesting and cool.
